Deathspank Sequel Next Month!!!

Yes, that’s right. The sequel to Deathspank is just around the corner. Ending on what is most likely the biggest cliffhanger ever, fans of the game should be happy to hear the ending is near.

“Deathspank Throngs of Virtue” will be released September 21 on PSN and 22 on XBLA. 

Heres the official press release:

DeathSpank: T.O.V. puts players in the mighty boots of DeathSpank, the “Dispenser of Justice”, “Vanquisher of Evil” and “Hero to the Downtrodden.” A long time ago, nine mystical thongs were planned to bring balance and harmony to the universe, but when marketing got in the way, only six thongs were produced, and the result was disastrous. Granting great power to those who wear them, the thongs corrupted all those they touched–except DeathSpank. DeathSpank must find all six thongs and destroy them once and for all. Thongs of Virtue includes local co-op mode, allowing a second player to choose one of two hilarious sidekicks to help save the world. Players will enjoy unleashing magical skills, playing as Sparkles the Wizard, or laugh at the ninjatastic Kung Fu moves of DeathSpank’s new partner in crime, Steve.

Being that this will be another $15, it better not be another cliffhanger. I’m a little pissed they are charging another 15 bones to be honest. After all, wasn’t the main selling point that it was only $15?!

Saw 2 Release Date Confirmed

KONAMI today announced
that SAW II: Flesh & Blood will
be available at retail stores nationwide on October 19 for Xbox
360® video game and entertainment system from Microsoft and PlayStation®3
computer entertainment system, just in time for the release of “Saw VII 3D”, the
seventh installment of the popular horror franchise from Lionsgate® and Twisted
Pictures. KONAMI has released an all-new look at concept art from the game for
those daring enough to enter Jigsaw’s world. The images reveal newly created
deadly traps that challenge the player to think fast under pressure. Zombie
Studios Producer, John Williamson, shares the vision for the game, “Just the
silhouette of the character in the trap had to make the viewer
uncomfortable. You had to know instantly that something bad was going to
happen to this person if you didn’t get them out.” A look at the intense and
detailed environments were also revealed to show the mysterious, detailed
levels one can expect in this year’s release.

Superstars V8 Racing for PSN

Releasing this October for $19.99, Superstars V8 Racing will be available for download on PSN.  This is a game that has detailed for $40 in the past and easily has content to elicit its previous price.

“The breadth, depth and quality of Superstars V8 Racing make it one of the best racing games available on PlayStation Network,” said Greg Lanz, general manager of O-Games, Inc. “Our original plan was to release this game at retail, but after considering all the options, we decided to release it exclusively through PlayStation Network.  Superstars V8 Racing delivers a first-class multiplayer race experience with world-renowned cars that will thrive with this audience.  In addition, O-Games can sell Superstars V8 Racing for a lower price since we do not have to pay the costs to manufacture, package, and ship the product to retail.  The bottom line?  Gamers can now own a $40 game for half the price they would pay in-store.”
